Artist Statement
Mariana is an artist originally from Brazil currently living in New York. Her artmaking seeks to examine humanity through portraying herself, family and friends, and people of interest. Her work is influenced by artists such as Lucian Freud, Miles Yoshida, and Marcos Beccari. Shes explores these figures by trying different mediums and a combination of them. Botanic is the second subject of interest. Combining the human figure and botanic. Since her childhood nature has been an important piece of her life, thus she enjoys bringing together human subjects and the symbology different plants is the same artwork.

Artist Biography:
Mariana was born in Cascavel, Brazil and is currently living in New York. She is seeking an MA in Art Education at City College of New York while working as an independent artist/graphic designer.
